Before you use it. Reference implementation in modelcontextprotocol/servers. Upstream says these servers demonstrate the protocol and are not production-ready. Only pass directories you intend the agent to touch. The README documents --read-only and --confine-roots. Roots from older clients can widen access unless you confine them.

TypeScript package license field is "SEE LICENSE IN LICENSE". The repository root LICENSE describes a transition from MIT to Apache-2.0: new contributions are Apache-2.0, and older contributions stay MIT until the author agrees to relicense. Treat the server as mixed MIT / Apache-2.0.
